prototyping On the Horizon

musicmaker909's next album is planned to release onto Bandcamp and streaming on New Years Day 2027.

I feel like this project is an extreme shift in both sound palette and genre from my previous work under this name. While I am indeed nervous about how people will receive it, I can't help but feel excited to step outside of my comfort zone. I think I have grown a lot since my debut.

The lead single, "my best friend is my worst enemy" is available now on Bandcamp and streaming.

This single is far more industrial and rhythmically focused than any prior musicmaker909 track. Previous work has been notably atmosphere focused. This song dials up more glitchy and dissonant aspects of that sound while also being more melodic.

The production on this track feels more confident than that of debut, cutting back on the reverb and instead leaning into a dryer, tighter, and punchier style.

Upstate On Their New Album

Upstate is gearing up to release Reports I Never Turned In on November 20th.

As the band's frontman, I'm excited to announce our debut album is coming out very soon. We spent over half a year on this release, and are very proud of it.

Despite the fact that Upstate has been a band for over a year, this is their first album. Many of the songs on this album have been written and even performed live previously.

We hope that the time, effort, and money spent on this album will be worth the wait. It wasn't easy filing our demos into a solid record, but the result awakens a sense of pride and excitement in us.
